How much do you know about one of the most important tools you have to help protect yours and your family’s financial future?

Why Work With a Hybrid Advisor?

The financial services landscape is constantly evolving. As the industry evolves, so must the advisor. Hybrid advisors or “dually registered advisors” operate as investment advisor representatives, typically charging fees for some clients, and as securities brokers, typically charging commission for others.

Registered Investment Advisors have a fiduciary duty to always act in the best interests of their clients.

"The RIA and dually registered advisor channels are the only ones that had a positive annual growth rate in advisor numbers over the last five years. The growth is mostly from attracting advisors out of other channels." – Cerulli Associates

Every client is different. As such, a client's advisor requires the flexibility to provide the products and services necessary to help a client work towards their investment goals and objectives. Flexibility is key.

john@perennialfs.com

In 2004, John B. Petrick and Chris Nowakowski created Perennial Financial Services - an independent wealth management firm offering comprehensive and customized financial planning and investment management services. Their vision was to create a personalized financial planning approach for families, foundations, institutions, and businesses with unique financial and wealth management circumstances. Additionally, they sought out to create a turnkey platform allowing likeminded advisors to pursue independence without the burden of running the day-to-day operations, compliance and oversight associated with owning and operating an independent RIA.

John was born and raised in Pacific Palisades, California. His father owned an independent residential real estate brokerage, while his mother taught 3rd and 4th grade at Marquez and Palisades Elementary. John graduated from Pacific Palisades Charter High School, then attended the University of Arizona, in Tucson, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Retail & Consumer Sciences and a Minor in General Business Administration.

John, his wife Sara, daughter Delaney and son Austin currently reside in Woodland Hills, California. However, John remains highly involved in the Pacific Palisades where he has served as the 2010-2011 President of the Palisades Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for 14 years. He has also served as First Vice President of the Palisades Americanism Parade Association (P.A.P.A.), and the Palisades Posse to promote a safe business environment. In 2008, John was selected for inclusion in the "Cambridge Who’s Who" registry of executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs. In 2023, John was once again named as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager for the 12th consecutive year.
1
Additionally in 2023, John was once again named as a Leader of Influence amongst Wealth Managers by the Los Angeles Business Journal for the 2nd consecutive year.2 His financial commentary has been featured in the Grayhawk Flight Magazine, ThisWeekInThePalisades.com, and The Palisadian-Post.

1Award based on 10 objective criteria associated with providing quality services to clients such as credentials, experience, and assets under management among other factors. Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of 2012-2023 Five Start Wealth Managers.

2The 2022 and 2023 Los Angeles Business Journal’s Leaders of Influence award winners were drawn from nomination materials submitted to the Los Angeles Business Journal. Those selected for inclusion were reviewed by the editorial department and chosen based on a demonstration of impact made on the profession and on the Los Angeles community, including professional achievements, community leadership, milestones, and notable accomplishments. The professionals did not pay to be included in the selection process.

Financial Advisor I LPL Registered Principal

mike@perennialfs.com

Hello, I’m Mike Fuller.   I have been on the Central Coast since 1969 and attended Cal Poly.   I’ve started several businesses in the area, and have also built several homes, so I have a special place in my heart for the challenges of business owners and entrepreneurs.  It became increasingly important to me to give back to the community and assist others in creating and managing personal and business wealth.  Thus, I started my financial career in 1996.

Built on the principles of availability, customer service, and attention to personal needs, I am extremely grateful to the many referrals I have received from helping clients navigate through challenging markets over the years, while growing their wealth during the good times.  I also take great pride in providing creative financial strategies to complex situations for both small family planning as well as high net worth clients.

*Charitable giving has become an area of emphasis for me over the years.  If this is important to you as well, or if you are just looking for innovative tax mitigation strategies, I hope you’ll give me a call.  Most people are not aware of the many benefits available in this arena, not only for the recipients but for the givers as well.  It is best to discuss this before just giving. Let me help!

I believe the cornerstone of a successful client/advisor relationship is the mutual trust and respect that tends to develop over time.  The more I learn about you, the more comprehensive investment management, risk analysis, and estate planning I can deliver you, whether you are a retiree, individual, family, or business.   Regardless of your stage of life or financial situation, I can help develop a plan to serve your various needs.

In my free time, I enjoy fishing, backpacking, camping, and hiking.  I also enjoy the real estate market, being involved with Grace Bible Church, and spending time with my wife Rachel and three lovely daughters.

Are you The Millionaire Next DoorWould you like to be?  Hi, I’m Rob.  I joined Mike and Lisa in 2019 to help with Mike’s growing business.  I pose the first sentence as a question from the book by Stanley and Danko not to say I will make you a millionaire, but to help you understand what it takes to become one and how to manage things once you have.  The book speaks of PAWs (prodigious accumulators of wealth) and UAWs (under accumulators of wealth).

I relate to this book as my grandfather was a PAW, impressively setting up nine children for life.  Unfortunately, I’ve witnessed a handful of them turn out to be UAWs and have nothing left to show for his efforts, or the next generation that followed.  I entered financial services to help families preserve their wealth and avoid becoming UAWs, something I was too young to help my own family members avoid.  Having experienced both influences in my life, I chose to become a PAW like my grandfather, and can help you and your family avoid the pitfalls of under accumulation - which often results in the loss of fortune by the third generation.

Mike and I hit it off from our first meeting with like-minded values and a similar, client-centric approach to service.  I continue to learn from Mike, another PAW, and expand my knowledge and resources working here daily.  We complement each other’s strengths very well, and (along with Lisa) have a great team here at the ready to answer your questions and make your financial life easier.

After college, I spent roughly ten years in the tennis industry, and as a college coach.  With a background in organizational communications and coaching, I had helped several businesses and owners achieve their highest levels of successes before becoming a financial advisor.  The lessons of my youth drove me to want to help others preserve and build upon what they have and not fall victim to the UAW habits that inhibit life’s hopes and goals.  With the resources that are now available to me, I am well prepared to help both you, and your next generation, become prodigious accumulators of wealth as well.

jason@perennialia.com

Jason R. Good believes that his job as a financial advisor is to help his clients make their lives better. Household finances are complex and daunting at times and having an experienced advisor in your corner is essential for success. Whether the savings goal is immediate, like for a car or house, or longer term, like planning for retirement, he strives to reduce the associated complexity and anxiety by simplifying the process. With a calm, measured approach, Jason utilizes not only his own knowledge and expertise to help his clients achieve their personal goals but also connects clients with experts in complementary fields such as accounting and law.

Jason heard about Perennial during a chance encounter on the golf course. And, after learning more about Perennial’s team-based approach, he eagerly joined them in 2020. He holds the Series 66 through Perennial Investment Advisors. He also holds Idaho insurance licenses in life and health. Jason was a mortgage originator in the early part of his career, making the switch to investments to follow his passion- helping others improve their financial situation in order to meet their personal goals.

Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, Jason attended Boise State University where he walked-on to the golf team. He played for three seasons and realized that he wasn’t going to become a professional golfer. Turning his focus to his studies, Jason graduated in 2005 with a BBA in Finance and in Business Management. Still residing in Boise, he is married and has two children. Now a fair-weather golfer, he manages to get in one or two rounds a month.
